Don’t Procrastinate – Vaccinate!
1. Find the perfect Halloween costume for your pet
2. Buy [many] PSLs (pumpkin spiced lattes)
3. Get shots for Kitty and Fido
4. Carve an award-winning pumpkin
Okay, so maybe number three isn’t on your list – yet. If it’s been a while since you have gotten vaccinations for your pet, or if you can’t remember ever getting them shots, then now is the time. Did you know vaccines not only keep your pet protected, but they also protect your family and the surrounding pet population? Vaccinations are the responsible thing to do.
Vaccinations are key to protecting your pet against preventable diseases. These diseases include, but are not limited to, Distemper, Parvovirus, Kennel Cough, Leptospirosis, Feline Leukemia, Rabies, and Canine Influenza. At VIP Petcare Wellness Centers we only recommend vaccinations based on your pet’s lifestyle.
In addition, lifestyle choices you make for your pets are important in maintaining their overall health. As with their people, pets need to stay up to date on their vaccinations, have regular diagnostic testing to screen for diseases found in blood and feces, be on preventive flea/tick/heartworm medication, eat a healthy diet, get plenty of exercise, and receive a microchip as a form of permanent identification and peace of mind for you.
Wellness Centers are permanent clinic locations based inside our partners’ stores that offer a more traditional veterinary setting and a wider range of veterinary care options for your pet than our traditional clinics.
Some of our services include:
• Physical Exams
• Wellness Packages (see more info below)
• Vaccinations and Vaccination Packages
• Fecal, and Urine Testing
• Microchip Pet I.D. with lifetime registration
• Ear and Eye Flushes
• Skin Scrapes
• Tapeworm and Roundworm Deworming
• Heartworm and Lyme Disease Testing
• Anal Gland Expression
• Nail Trim
We offer two types of Wellness Packages for your pet based on age, and a Physical Exam for all ages.
Our Wellness Package, recommended for pets up to 6 years of age, includes a complete physical exam and blood work to check for vital organ function.
Our Wellness Package Plus, recommended for pets 6 years of age and older, includes a complete physical exam, blood work to check for vital organ function, urinalysis, thyroid check, and a fecal test.
Our Physical Exam (recommended once as a puppy/kitten, and then annually) includes a comprehensive check of vital signs such as heart rate, breathing, eyes, ears, teeth, weight assessment and discussion about nutrition. The veterinarian will also answer any questions you may have about your pet’s health. We compare this to a human’s “annual check-up” at the doctor’s office.
